Jasper, Rainbow Tumbled Stones
Not surprisingly, Rainbow Jasper earned its name from the eye-catching colors and patterns that line this beautiful stone.
Unlike other natural stones with the “rainbow” moniker, Rainbow Jasper doesn’t rely on flashes to show its color. Instead, this stone shows deeply colored bands of red, brown and tan with prominent separations of color.
Rainbow Jasper is described as a “sustaining stone” that provides protection for your aura and Chakras. The stone guards against malicious thoughts and dark energy.
Many utilize Rainbow Jasper to express creative thoughts and love.
The name Jasper means "Spotted or speckled stone" and is derived from the Old French term jaspre. Jasper is known to have been a favorite gem in the ancient world; its name can be traced back in Arabic, Persian, Hebrew, Assyrian, Greek and Latin. On Minoan Crete, jasper was carved to produce seals circa 1800 BC, as evidenced by archaeological recoveries at the palace of Knossos.
