Covellite is a copper sulfide with a crystal structure that displays as stunning blues, greens and indigo. The blue stones contain a secondary mineral and are more sought after among collectors. Blue tumbled stones are available through the drop-down box in this listing.
The mineral is generally found in zones of secondary enrichment of copper sulfide deposits. Covellite often grows as coatings on Chalcopyrite, Pyrite, Bornite, Chalcocite and other sulfides.
In the metaphysical realm, Covellite is considered by many practitioners to be an amazingly powerful stone. Covellite is a strong manifestation stone that connects one to his or her higher self and promotes bringing dreams into reality.
Covellite also stimulates the third eye chakra and enhances psychic abilities.
The stone gets its name from N. Covelli, who was the first to record the stone when it was found on Mount Vesuvius in 1832.
All tumbled stones are priced and sold individually, unless otherwise noted.
Due to the unique qualities in each stone, sizes can vary from 0.75 inches to 1.75 inches per stone.
