Angelite is a crystal made of calcium sulfate. These stones form in areas where gypsum stones previously came into contact with water. When the water evaporates, anhydrite crystals form — which becomes Angelite.
As an anhydrate, Angelite can re-convert back to Gypsum when immersed in water — making this a difficult stone to craft as jewelry without a solid polish or outer coating.
