Fuchsite — also known as chrome mica — is a chromium-rich variety of the mineral muscovite. In its raw form, Fuchsite resembles an emerald-green variety of tin foil.
While these raw pieces make tremendous displays, they aren’t intended for everyday handling, as they can shed some of their luster over time if held too often or too roughly.
Thankfully, the tumbled variety of Fuchsite maintains the same brilliant greens, but can also work as a carrying piece thanks to its polish that keeps the piece intact.
