Mexican Fire Agate is a semi-precious natural gemstone that consists of chalcedony from certain areas of Northern Mexico and the Southwestern U.S.
These stones were subjected to massive volcanic activity approximately 24 to 36 million years ago. As the boiling hot water saturated with silica and iron oxide, bubbles and cracks filled in surrounding the pre-existing rock to create these amazingly colorful stones.
Fire Agate is known for its stunning iridescent rainbow colors that can sometimes compare to striking Opals from Ethiopia and Australia.
All tumbled stones are priced and sold individually, unless otherwise noted.
Due to the unique qualities in each stone, sizes can vary from 0.75 inches to 1.75 inches per stone.
