Afghanite/Lapis/Sodalite Tumbled Stones

Regular price $6.00 Sale

These rather large tumbles offer a three-in-one power punch with a mixture of Afghanite, Lapis-lazuli and Sodalite.

Perhaps the most soothing feature in these stones are the three different hues of blue that come from the three contributing materials.

While we also carry tumbled stones in both Lapis and Sodalite, Afghanite represents a material that’s harder to find in tumbled form.

Often used as a gemstone in jewelry pieces, Afghanite was first discovered in a Lapis-lazuli mine in Afghanistan in 1968 — hence the name given to the stone. These tumbles come from material recovered in that same mine, Sar-e-Sang, in the Badakhshan Province.

Many of the pieces in this batch also fluoresce a brilliant orange or pink under long-wave UV light.

All tumbled stones are priced and sold individually, unless otherwise noted.

Due to the unique qualities in each stone, sizes can vary from 0.75 inches to 1.75 inches per stone.
