Black spots of Black Tourmaline aid with spiritual grounding and psychic protection.
Dalmatian Jasper — also simply referred to as Dalmatian stone — is found in Chihuahua, Mexico.
The base of these stones typically show an opaque or milky white, but can also have a lighter purple color due to impurities in the stone.
Much like its canine namesake, Dalmatian Jasper is said to create a playful nature in those who hold or wear the stone. Dalmatian Jasper brings about a lighthearted nature and increases devotion toward others.
Many also use Dalmatian Jasper to improve sleep patterns and decrease nightmares. That’s because the black “spots” on the stone are thought to absorb negative thinking and bring about peace of mind.
The name Jasper means "Spotted or speckled stone" and is derived from the Old French term jaspre. Jasper is known to have been a favorite gem in the ancient world; its name can be traced back in Arabic, Persian, Hebrew, Assyrian, Greek and Latin. On Minoan Crete, jasper was carved to produce seals circa 1800 BC, as evidenced by archaeological recoveries at the palace of Knossos.
